Why This Job Matters

The Administrator for Grants & Levies makes sure that all money coming from mandatory and optional grants is tracked, reported, and recovered correctly. This role helps keep the organisation’s finances tidy, supports audit work, and guarantees that reports are ready on time each month. If you like numbers, enjoy solving problems, and want to help a big education‑training body run smoothly, this could be the perfect fit.

What You’ll Do Every Day

  • Track levy income – Keep the levy schedule up‑to‑date and match it with the receipts we get from the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
  • Process grant payments – Help with the payment of mandatory grants and make sure the money goes where it should.
  • Maintain a grant register – Update the list of projects and discretionary grant commitments so nothing is missed.
  • Recover over‑payments – Spot any extra money paid out and work to get it back.
  • Chase debts – Follow the SETA debt‑recovery steps, talk to stakeholders and debt collectors, and keep the process moving.
  • Prepare monthly reports – Create schedules and reports that feed into the monthly management pack.
  • Reconcile the ledger – Perform general‑ledger checks to ensure all entries balance.
  • Organise records – Store all documents and data so they are easy to find, accurate, and complete.
  • Support audits – Answer any internal or external audit questions and supply the right paperwork quickly.
  • Handle inter‑SETA transactions – Work with other SETA bodies when money needs to move between them.
