About the Role
As a Team Leader – Accounts Payable West, you’ll be responsible for leading a team of Accounts Payable clerks to optimize the capacity, efficiency, and effectiveness of creditor payments and the Financial Accounting department. You’ll be a key member of the team, collaborating with other departments to drive results and increase productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 4-12 staff members to achieve exceptional performance and efficiency
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improveAccounts Payable operations
- Collaborate with other departments to drive business growth and development
- Analyze and resolve problems and issues in a timely and professional manner
- Prepare and present business reports to management
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational in Grade 12 National Certificate
- At least one year’s experience of leading or supervising a small team of people (4-12 people)
- Practical experience of SAP finance management system
- Experience of holding responsibility for an accounts payable function and associated practices and procedures
- Business report writing skills
- Experience gained in a banking or retail environment
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting – Financial Accounting or Finance
- Knowledge of Accounting software, SAP
- Understanding of the banking environment is advantageous
Certifications and Skills:
- People management principles and practices
- Leadership principles
- Business communication
- Microsoft Office suite of tools
