The person hired will help coworkers solve tech problems, keep hardware and software up to date, and make sure all digital tools stay safe and reliable. Good communication, quick thinking, and a friendly attitude are key.


What You’ll Be Doing

1. Front‑line Tech Help

  • Answer calls, emails or face‑to‑face requests from staff and outside users.
  • Find out what’s wrong with PCs, laptops, printers or apps and fix the issue.
  • Pass on more serious problems to senior IT staff when needed.

2. Setting Up and Maintaining Systems

  • Install new computers, operating systems, software and peripherals.
  • Run updates and patches to keep everything current.
  • Keep track of software licences and make sure the company follows its own rules.

3. Keeping the Network Alive

  • Help manage the office network (LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi) so everyone stays online.
  • Diagnose network hiccups, such as IP address conflicts, DNS errors, DHCP problems or VPN glitches.
  • Apply basic security steps to protect network access.

4. Managing Hardware

  • Assemble and configure new workstations, laptops and other tech gear.
  • Record every piece of equipment in an inventory list.
  • Fix broken hardware or arrange repairs with outside vendors.

5. Safeguarding Data

  • Run regular backups and be ready to restore data if something goes wrong.
  • Install and update antivirus, firewalls and other security tools.
  • Teach staff simple habits for keeping data safe (strong passwords, locking screens, etc.).

6. Keeping Clear Records

  • Write short notes about each problem, the steps taken, and the final fix.
  • Update diagrams of the network and keep system configuration files current.
  • Send routine reports to the IT Manager showing what was fixed and any recurring issues.

7. Training and Support

  • Show teammates how to use new software, hardware and IT policies.
  • Create easy‑to‑read user guides or short video tutorials.
  • Help new hires set up their user accounts and explain the company’s IT rules.

What You Need to Bring
