Tshwane University of Technology Invites qualified candidates to apply for an Administrative Assistant vacancy. The closing date for applications is 30 April 2026.
The Directorate of Student Governance and Leadership Development (SGLD) at the Soshanguve Campus needs one dedicated Administrative Assistant to help run its student leadership programmes. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys organising, supporting people, and working in a university setting.
What You’ll Do Every Day
- Help students join university decision‑making groups. You’ll make sure student leaders can take part in committees and meetings that shape campus life.
- Provide admin help to the Student Representative Council (SRC). This includes taking minutes, handling paperwork, and keeping records up‑to‑date.
- Support the SGLD office. You’ll assist with daily tasks, answer phones, and keep the office running smoothly.
- Organise training and development events for the SRC. From booking rooms to sending out invites, you’ll be the point person for all learning activities.
- Liaise between the Central SRC and other university departments or outside groups. Clear communication will keep projects on track.
- Take on other related duties as needed. The university may change or add tasks over time, so flexibility is key.
What You Need to Have
Education
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) – NQF Level 4 or equivalent.
Work Experience
- At least one year of relevant administrative experience, preferably in an educational or student‑focused environment.
Skills and Knowledge
- Familiarity with how student governance works at a university.
- Ability to plan and run events and manage small projects.
- Experience in facilitating skills‑development activities and managing camps or workshops.
- Good writing skills for clear reports and emails.
- Strong time‑management and office‑organisation abilities.
