The Vine School is an independent, Christian primary school based in Lansdowne, Cape Town, offering an Ambleside education, a curriculum and method based on the principles of Charlotte Mason. The school requires a Debtors Clerk to be responsible for invoicing and collection of fees. The successful applicant will become a key member of the financial administration team, reporting to the Bursar.
Requirements:
- Post-Matric qualification in bookkeeping OR similar qualification
- At least 3 years’ relevant experience in a small business or school admin office
- Experience working with an online accounting system, preferably Xero
- Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
- A testimony of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior

Specific duties include the following:
- Working 3 x 6 hour days a week
- Processing invoices for fees, levies and sales
- Capturing receipts from bank statements and receipt books to debtor accounts
- Checking and sending monthly customer statements
- Following up unpaid accounts
- Communicating with parents regarding arrear school fees
- Developing payment plans to recover arrear fees
- Escalating problem accounts to the Bursar
