The Department of Health invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Security Officer position (1 Post). The closing date for applications is 21 June 2024.

Requirements:
- Must have Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 6-11 months of relevant experience plus a security certificate.
- Must have a Grade C security certificate and be registered with PSIRa.
- Basic computer skills and experience with CCTV in a control room are a plus.
- Knowledge of the Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act No. 53 of 1985, PSIRa Act 56 of 2001, and Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS).
- Must be ready to work shifts and handle pressure.
- Preference will be given to EPWP trainees and administrative interns who have served the Department.
- Candidates will undergo medical surveillance.
Job Duties:
- Protect state assets, vehicles, employees, patients, contractors, and visitors.
- Monitor and control the movement of patients and visitors.
- Provide escort services for staff, visitors, and patients as needed.
- Report incidents or breaches in the Occurrences Book and conduct searches (people and vehicles).
- Enforce departmental policies, assist nursing staff with aggressive patients, manage hospital security aids, and monitor CCTV cameras.
- Respond quickly to emergencies in the hospital.
