Nedbank needs a Marketing Operations Specialist to help run marketing projects for its Private‑Clients, Private‑Wealth, Financial‑Planning, Online Share‑Trading and Nedgroup Trust divisions. The role makes sure every marketing idea, campaign, event and regional activity is organized, follows the rules, and meets business goals.
You will work with internal teams, external agencies and suppliers to turn marketing requests into clear plans, keep everything on track, and report on what works and what needs fixing.
Main purpose
- Keep the Private‑and‑Wealth marketing plan running smoothly.
- Turn business needs into step‑by‑step marketing briefs and schedules.
- Support the Head of Marketing for Private‑and‑Wealth in delivering campaigns across all the listed divisions.
What you will do every day
1. Regional marketing coordination
- Be the go‑to person for regional marketing requests.
- Organize local campaigns, events and promotional material.
- Work with regional managers to confirm priorities, timelines and any dependencies.
- Make sure all regional activities match the overall business strategy.
- Keep a clear view of requests, delivery dates and results.
- Track and report on the status of regional work.
2. Planning and running campaigns
- Change business needs into simple marketing briefs and task lists.
- Help agencies, suppliers and internal teams launch integrated campaigns.
- Monitor campaign progress, update plans and point out any risks or delays.
- Ensure every activity follows the approved budget, timeline and governance rules.
- Support day‑to‑day marketing tasks as well as larger strategic projects.
3. Marketing operations and compliance
- Manage workflow, prioritisation and briefing tools.
- Keep intake and delivery trackers up‑to‑date so everyone sees what’s happening.
- Follow brand, legal, risk and conduct guidelines at all times.
- Record marketing metrics, prepare regular reports and maintain operational controls.
- Set up planning meetings, track actions and follow up on outcomes.
- Suggest practical improvements to make the marketing process faster and clearer.
4. Budget and supplier handling
- Compare actual spend with the approved budget and keep accurate records.
- Monitor supplier invoices, commitments and payment status.
- Review supplier quotes and deliverables for value and alignment with the scope.
- Help with purchase‑order and invoice processing when needed.
- Alert the team early if there are budget overruns, late invoices or delivery issues.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and budget reconciliation.
5. Reporting and stakeholder relations
- Build good relationships with business units, regional teams, agencies and suppliers.
- Provide regular updates on marketing activity, delivery status and key projects.
- Prepare data for monthly marketing reports and management packs.
- Track performance of campaigns, activations and regional work.
- Spot optimisation chances and recommend actions for improvement.
- Support business‑review meetings and any other reporting needs.
What you need to have
Education
- An Advanced Diploma, National 1st Degree, or an Honours degree.
- Preferred: a Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Marketing, Business Management, Communications or a related field.
Experience
- At least 3 years in marketing operations, campaign coordination, or a similar execution role.
- Experience handling multi‑stakeholder campaigns, events, regional initiatives or client communications.
- Hands‑on knowledge of marketing budgets, supplier management, purchase orders and invoice reconciliation.
- Ability to turn business requirements into clear briefs, schedules and risk‑tracking plans.
- Background in banking, wealth management, financial services or any regulated industry is a plus.
