Motus Corporation invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for its Service Trainee vacancy. The closing date for applications is 7 September 2026.
Motus Corporation is searching for an eager, customer‑oriented trainee to join the Service Department at Toyota Cape Gate in Cape Town, Western Cape. This is a six‑month contract that gives you a real‑world look at how a car dealership runs its service side. You will pick up useful skills in dealing with customers, handling paperwork, and keeping the workshop flowing smoothly. If you are neat, can speak clearly, and love cars, this role could be a great first step for your career.
What You Will Do Every Day
- Help the service team with routine admin tasks and answer basic customer questions.
- Link up service advisors, technicians, foremen and customers so jobs move along without a hitch.
- Tell customers when their car is booked, when work starts, and how it is progressing.
- Make sure the workshop stays tidy – park cars properly, keep keys in the safe, and keep the work area clean.
- Check that technicians sign off on job cards before a car leaves the bay.
- Assist with quotes for repairs and make sure they are sent out quickly.
- Support the Service Manager, Controller, Foreman and Receptionist with any extra admin work they need.
- Follow up on parts that have been ordered for the workshop.
- Book vehicles into the service schedule and record any returns or follow‑up work.
- Promote safety by following health‑and‑safety rules at all times.
- Help sell accessories and suggest extra work where it makes sense.
- Prepare price estimates for customer approval.
- Keep the customer experience smooth from the moment they walk in until they drive away.
What We Are Looking For
- Completed Grade 12 (Matric).
- Basic computer skills – you should be able to type, use email and work with simple software.
- Clear criminal record and a valid driver’s licence.
- Strong spoken English – you need to explain things clearly to customers and teammates.
- A genuine interest in helping people and delivering good service.
- Good organisational habits – you can juggle several tasks at once without forgetting details.
- Careful attention to detail – accurate records keep the workshop running.
- Ability to work well with a team and follow instructions.
- Willingness to learn new things about car servicing and repair.
Having some experience in the motor industry is a plus, but it is not a must.
Why This Role Is a Good Fit
- Real‑world experience: You will see how a professional dealership handles everything from a simple oil change to a major repair.
- Skill building: Learn how to talk to customers, manage bookings, write quotes, and follow up on parts – skills that work in many other jobs.
- Team environment: Work side‑by‑side with experienced technicians, service advisors and managers who will show you the ropes.
- Career launchpad: The knowledge you gain can open doors to future roles in automotive service, sales, or management.
How to Apply
If you have finished Grade 12, own a driver’s licence, and can communicate well, we want to hear from you. Update your CV to highlight any customer service work, school projects, or car‑related experience you have. Submit your application before the deadline on 7 September 2026.
