Durban University of Technology invites eligible graduates to apply for the Outstanding Student Fees Settlement Programme. The closing date for applications is 25 May 2026 at 12:00 PM.

Durban University of Technology (DUT) has teamed up with BankSeta to help students who still owe money on their studies. The programme will pay the remaining fees so you can finish your diploma or degree and get your certificate.

Who can apply?

You are allowed to apply if you meet one of the following:

  • 2025 graduates – you finished your course in 2025 but still have unpaid fees.
  • Earlier graduates – you completed a qualification in any year before 2025 and still have a fee balance.

The programme accepts students from the following study levels (and similar courses):

  • Advanced Diploma
  • Diploma
  • Postgraduate Diploma

If your qualification looks like any of these, you are likely eligible.

What you need to send

Make sure you attach all of the items below when you submit your application. Missing paperwork can delay your request.

  1. Official fee statement – a document from DUT that shows the exact amount you still owe.
  2. Cover letter – a short letter (one page) explaining why you need the fee help and confirming that the information you gave is true.
  3. Certified copy of your ID – a clear, scanned copy of your national identity document, signed by a notary or other authorized person.
