About the Role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for dedicated Security Guards to join their team at the Midrand warehouse. Your mission will be to maintain a safe and secure environment by preventing criminal activities, protecting assets, and upholding Dis-Chem’s high security standards.

Minimum Requirements

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12 (Matric) or Senior Certificate.
PSIRA Grade C accreditation.
At least 3 years of experience in the retail sector, preferably shopping malls or warehouses.

Advantageous:

1 year of experience in a similar security role.

Responsibilities of a Security Guard

Your daily tasks will include, but are not limited to:

Security and Safety:

Conduct regular patrols to maintain visibility and deter criminal activity.
Monitor and control access to the premises, allowing entry only to authorized individuals.
Investigate and report unlawful activity or property damage.
Perform thorough searches of employees, visitors, and vehicles as required.

Customer and Staff Interaction:

Assist guests, customers, and employees with professionalism and courtesy.
Act as a deterrent to potential security threats by maintaining a visible presence.
Monitor employee activities and report any suspicious behavior.

Incident Management:

Respond quickly to emergencies, such as fire or medical incidents, and notify the appropriate authorities.
Handle crises like theft or vandalism by following established procedures.
Maintain detailed records of unusual occurrences and daily activities.

Facility Management:

Ensure doors, windows, and taps are securely locked and turned off at the end of the day.
Operate security equipment, including alarm systems and video surveillance.
Maintain order during evacuations and assist emergency teams.
