The Department of Transport is looking for two Administration Interns to work in the Office of the Ministry in Pretoria.
This is a 24‑month paid internship aimed at fresh graduates who have finished a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas:

  • International Relations
  • Public Affairs
  • Management

The internship is based at the Department’s Head Office in Pretoria. It gives you a chance to see how a government department works day‑to‑day while you build real‑world office skills.

The stipend is R8 174,75 per month. The exact amount can be higher if you have extra qualifications, so the pay matches your level of study.


What you will be doing (Key Responsibilities)

  • Help run the daily office work of the Ministry’s branch.
  • Carry out general admin tasks that the team assigns to you.
  • Use what you learned in university (public admin, politics, etc.) to solve real office problems.
  • Prepare, file, and keep track of important documents.
  • Support routine admin duties whenever the branch needs help.
  • Keep the office tidy and running smoothly.
  • Finish assigned jobs on time and to a good standard.
  • Work politely and professionally with senior officials and other stakeholders.
  • Keep confidential information safe and private.
  • Take part fully in the 24‑month program and grab every chance to learn on the job.
  • Follow all department rules, instructions, and professional standards.

Important: If you have already done an internship with any South African government department or state entity, you cannot apply. The Department will verify all information, and any false or missing details may lead to disqualification.
