Business and Arts South Africa (BASA) invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture Debut Fund Programme vacancies. The closing date for applications is 17 July 2026.


What the Debut Fund Programme Is All About

The Debut Fund Programme is a national project that helps South African creatives turn their ideas into real businesses. It brings together the worlds of art, sport, music, design and other creative fields with practical business training.

  • South African citizens aged 18‑35.
  • Residents of rural or peri‑urban areas.
  • Have a creative business idea, a working prototype, or a brand‑new start‑up.
  • Are ready to grow a sustainable creative business.
  • Work within any of South Africa’s creative and cultural industries – such as music, film, fashion, visual arts, craft, sport, or digital media.

The fourth round of the Debut Fund Programme continues to strengthen South Africa’s creative economy by giving young talent the tools they need to succeed.
