What the job is about

The Service Advisor works at the front of the store, making sure every customer leaves happy. You’ll be in charge of the checkout area, keep the cash drawer safe, and help the team run smoothly. The store sells everyday items like health‑care products, cosmetics, and household goods, so speed and accuracy are a must.

Main duties

  • Run the checkout counters so customers are served quickly and correctly.
  • Lead cashiers and shop assistants, giving them help when they need it.
  • Build weekly work schedules that match the store’s busy times.
  • Answer customer questions, sort out complaints, and turn a bad experience into a good one.
  • Encourage shoppers to sign up for the Clicks ClubCard and reach the set targets.
  • Keep the cash drawer balanced and protect the store from loss.
  • Check stock coming in and going out, handle returns, and follow security rules.
  • Make sure the store looks tidy, shelves are stocked, and promotional signs are in the right place.
  • Follow Clicks Group policies on safety, hygiene, and retail standards.
  • Train new staff on how to use the point‑of‑sale system and give tips for great service.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with the latest products, discounts, and store events.
  • Help plan daily tasks and support the store manager in meeting sales goals.

Who we are looking for

  • Finished Grade 12 (Matric).
  • A retail or business management certificate is a plus, but not required.
  • At least a year of experience working in a fast‑moving retail or FMCG environment.
  • Good knowledge of point‑of‑sale (POS) machines and cash handling.
  • Strong people skills – you can lead a team, give clear instructions, and keep morale high.
  • Excellent speaking and listening abilities; you can explain things simply and politely.
  • Quick thinker who can solve problems on the spot.
  • Goal‑oriented and able to hit targets, especially for ClubCard sign‑ups.
  • Good planner – you can organise work schedules and keep the store running without hiccups.
  • Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets) and comfortable with numbers.
  • Understanding of stock control, inventory checks, and loss‑prevention methods.
  • Ability to stay calm and productive when the store gets busy.
