Job Purpose Statement

As a Software Test Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the software developed by the company meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications. Your duties will include:

• Creating a set of activities and scenarios to test the software, both manually and automated, to ensure it meets the desired quality standards.
• Collaborating with Business Analysts and other team members to define test scenarios, prepare, participate in, and oversee the execution of test cases.
• Validating functional and non-functional test requirements, preparing test data, and setting up test environments.

Education Requirements

• Minimum:
  • Foundation Level Certification in Software Testing through the International Software Testing Qualification Board (ISTQB)
  • Grade 12 National Certificate or Vocational qualification
• Ideal or Preferred:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Software Testing

Knowledge and Experience

• Minimum:
  • 2-3 years of experience in Quality Assurance (QA) testing within a business context
  • Understanding of the end-to-end processes being tested to achieve successful testing
  • Knowledge of and exposure to impact analysis when introducing software changes
  • Understanding of the full Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Best practice and industry-standard in software and hardware testing, reporting, tracking, and follow-up, and Software Quality Assurance (SQA)
  • Detailed knowledge of formal testing practices
  • Front-end testing experience
• Ideal:
  • Experience in continuous delivery environment
  • Financial/Banking IT-related systems exposure
  • Reinforcing with stakeholders/feature team on testing environments and timelines
  • SQL Query/Fundamentals
  • Release management exposure
  • UML
  • Experience in Integration, Regression, Automation, and Non-Functional testing
  • Application of test tools
  • Exposure to various testing tools
  • Experience testing on a mobile app/different types of devices (e.g., iOS, Android, Huawei, etc.)
