Capitec Bank invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for the position of Product Data Engineer II in our dynamic team based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

About the Job:

We’re on the lookout for energetic, self-motivated individuals who share our passion for service in the banking industry. As a Product Data Engineer II, you will be part of the journey to design, develop, and maintain cutting-edge applications and systems that meet our customers’ needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contribute to the design and development of new applications/systems: Collaborate with the product team to create innovative solutions that meet business requirements.
2. Analyze business or system requirements: Understand the product line environment by analyzing data and business needs.
3. Provide input to solution design documentation: Work closely with the Architect to create comprehensive documentation for new and existing products/systems.

Requirements:

Education:

• Minimum: Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Data Analysis
• Ideal/Preferred: A relevant degree in Data Engineering or Certification in Data Warehousing

Experience:

• Minimum: At least 4 years of proven experience in management information systems (MIS), data warehousing, data transformation, or system analysis with a relevant 3-year tertiary qualification. Alternatively, 4-6 years of experience in management information systems/system analysis.
• Ideal: Proven experience in Cloud Environment, AWS, Data Analysis, Orchestration Technologies, and SQL

Knowledge:

• Minimum: IT systems development processes (SDLC), ETL processes, Rational database systems, Dimensional modeling, Standards and Governance, Testing practices, and SQL
• Ideal: Data architecture, DPLC, Banking systems environment, Banking business model, Quality Assurance (QA)
