Job Summary:

As a Forensic Investigator II – West, you’ll be working closely with the Manager of Forensic Investigations to conduct thorough investigations into various fraud-related risks within Capitec. Your mission will be to uncover the truth behind external and internal fraud, serious breaches of policies and procedures, and activities involving criminal syndicates.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth investigations into credit application fraud, internal fraud, and activities involving criminal syndicates
• Gather evidence suitable for disciplinary hearings and criminal proceedings
• Identify control weaknesses and recommend preventative measures, improvements, and training initiatives to mitigate future risks
• Plan and conduct detailed investigations to recover losses
• Provide evidence for disciplinary actions and criminal cases
• Produce comprehensive reports and collaborate with law enforcement
• Maintain financial crime databases and support real-time fraud-related inquiries
• Testify in court and disciplinary hearings
• Conduct fraud awareness training to educate colleagues and prevent future incidents

Requirements:

• A degree in a relevant field such as Forensic Science, Criminology, or Law Enforcement
• At least 2 years of experience in forensic investigations or a related field
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to collect and analyze evidence
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly
