About the Role

As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Branch Manager in the daily functioning of the branch, ensuring that tasks are assigned and carried out efficiently and effectively according to set standards. This role is perfect for someone who is looking to gain experience in leadership and people development, as well as develop their knowledge of general business processes and credit principles.

Responsibilities

• Support the Branch Manager in the operational functioning of the branch
• Ensure that daily tasks are assigned and carried out effectively and efficiently
• Gain knowledge and experience required for branch management
• Develop skills in leadership, people development, and business performance drivers
• Provide excellent client service in a retail/consumer service environment

Requirements

• Experience: At least 1 year’s client service experience within a retail/financial/banking environment
• Ideal: Supervisory/first-line management experience (includes acting management experience) would be an added advantage
• Qualifications: Grade 12 National Certificate/Vocational
• Ideal or Preferred Qualifications: Diploma in Commerce or Business Management
• Knowledge: Understanding of general credit principles, leadership and people development principles, business performance drivers, retail/consumer service environment, and general business processes (Marketing/Financial Management/Human Resource Management)
• Ideal: Knowledge of Capitec processes and procedures, Capitec organization Policies
• Skills: Decision-making skills, planning, organizing, and coordination skills, problem-solving skills, interpersonal and relationship management skills, computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)

Conditions of Employment

• Clear criminal and credit record
• Must have fingerprints which are detectable/recognizable on Capitec Bank’s internal electronic banking system
