(X2) Picker – Warehouse Department – Gauteng (Johannesburg)
Diplomat South Africa is recruiting for the roles of (X2) Picker in the Warehouse Department to based in Meadowdale, Gauteng. These roles will report to the Shift Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose of Job:
A clear understanding and working knowledge of picking practices in the FMCG environment, in which the following will have to be implemented and executed:
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure that the correct stock is picked for delivery to our customers with minimal errors.
- Pick and assemble customer orders according to assignment from Pick by voice (PBV).
- Ensure that all orders for the day are picked within the specified time.
- Pick and pack orders onto pallet for checking with the proper stacking requirements; to assist the checking process.
- Pick according to the picking standards (NO pyramid stacking).
- Alert manager of all picking differences.
- Alert manager of damages found during order picking to ensure minimal returns.
- Level all pallets throughout the day (NO pyramid stacking).
- Responsible for performing daily checks of Pallet Jacks & Weight in Motion Pallet jacks (WIM), this includes weight validation.
- Responsible for reporting any mechanical faults on pallet jack to Line Manager or Supervisor and record this on the Daily Inspection Checklist.
- Responsible for the safe and correct operation of pallet jacks and for cleaning of Pallet jacks and WIM jacks.
- Assist in cycle counts and other general duties.
- Compliance with Good Warehouse Practices.
- Ensure that housekeeping is done before each shifts ends.
- Adhere to company’s Health and Safety rules, laws, and regulations.
- Take responsibility for self-development through self-study, identification of learning opportunities.
Position Requirements:
- Completed Matric or equivalent accredited by SAQA OR equivalent work experience.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in similar position preferably from the FMCG industry.
- Experience in SAP will be an advantage.
- Experience with pick by voice picking will be an advantage.
- Ability to plan well and multi-task & work well under pressure.
- People skills.
- Attention to detail.
