- Support skilled staff such as upholsters, carpenters, machine operators and packers.
- Set up workstations by gathering the right tools, materials and safety gear before the shift starts.
- Do basic assembly – put together legs, frames, cushions and other parts as needed.
- Keep the workshop tidy – sweep floors, clear away scrap, and store tools in the right places.
- Throw away waste correctly and follow the company’s recycling rules.
- Check quality – look for defects, report problems to a supervisor, and make sure every piece meets the company’s standards.
- Wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) like safety shoes, gloves and goggles at all times.
- Report any unsafe conditions or accidents right away so they can be fixed.
- Wrap, pack and label finished furniture so it’s ready for shipping.
- Help load trucks when it’s time for deliveries.
- Double‑check quantities and product codes before items leave the factory.
What we are looking for

- Physical fitness: You must be able to lift and move heavy items safely.
- Team spirit: Good at talking with others and willing to pitch in where needed.
- Flexibility: Ready to work extra hours if the production schedule demands it.
- Strong work ethic: Show up on time, follow directions, and pay attention to details.
- Safety minded: Always follow the safety rules and use equipment correctly.
Why this job could be a great fit for you
- Real‑world experience: Learn how a leading South African furniture maker creates high‑quality pieces from start to finish.
