Truworths invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for its permanent Allocator vacancy. The closing date for applications is 12 January 2026.

Truworths is looking for a full‑time Allocator to join the Distribution Department at its head office in Cape Town, Western Cape. This on‑site role is a key link between the Distribution Centre and the Merchandise teams. The person in this job tells the system how stock should move from the warehouse to stores across South Africa and the continent. The right allocation helps stores have the right products, boosts sales, and keeps shoppers happy.


What the Allocator does every day

  1. Move stock to stores – Follow the allocation plan and send the right amount of merchandise to each shop.
  2. Keep the sample portfolio accurate – Check that each sample matches the record at all times.
  3. Add duty codes – Apply the correct duty codes to each style whenever needed.
  4. Create weekly reports – Collect data, write short reports and answer questions from the merchandise teams.
  5. Talk to the Distribution Centre – Work with warehouse staff to sort out any allocation or stock problems.
  6. Manage inter‑branch samples – Make sure samples that travel between branches are tracked correctly.
  7. Back‑up other team members – Step in to help other parts of the department when required.

Who should apply

  • Matric certificate with good math and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of systems such as MFP, RMS Viewer, size curves, JDA, and BDM.
  • Strong admin abilities – you’re comfortable typing, filing, and organizing data.
  • Experience in retail or logistics is a plus, but not mandatory.

Technical skills you need

  • Numbers matter – You must be comfortable working with large figures and calculations.
  • Excel – Ability to use intermediate functions (like VLOOKUP, pivot tables) will help you stand out.
