TFG Invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for its YES Intern – HR Vacancies. The closing date for applications is 30 April 2026.

TFG is looking for fresh graduates who want to start a real job in Human Resources. The internship will be based in the Western Cape and Gauteng and will run for 12 months as part of the Youth Employment Service (YES) programme. You will work side‑by‑side with HR professionals, use real HR software, and see how a large company handles its people every day.


What the YES Intern – HR role is all about

This internship is built for graduates who are still looking for their first HR job. You will help several HR teams with everyday tasks while you learn how a corporate HR department really works. The work environment is fast, deadline‑driven and needs a keen eye for detail.


Main duties you will do

HR Administration

  • Enter and update employee records in the HR system.
  • Help with the paperwork for new hires and people who leave the company.
  • Keep data in the system clean and correct.

Employee Relations

  • Record and organise employee‑relation cases.
  • Assist with writing up disciplinary letters.
  • Track the progress of each case and make sure updates are logged.

Talent Acquisition (Recruitment)

  • Book interview slots and send out interview invitations.
  • Update candidate profiles in the recruitment system.
  • Carry out routine recruitment admin work.

Learning & Development

  • Schedule training sessions and mark attendance.
  • Help with the logistics of workshops and learning events.
  • Support the administration of development programmes.

Performance & Transformation

  • Enter performance‑review data and keep it up‑to‑date.
  • Assist with reports that show how HR projects are progressing.
  • Maintain compliance paperwork for HR transformation initiatives.

General HR Support

  • Take part in employee‑engagement activities.
  • Help manage wellbeing, reward and benefits administration.
  • Perform typical office duties such as answering phones and filing.

Validation & Compliance

  • Check HR Connect workflows for mistakes.
  • Support data‑validation checks and fix any errors you find.

What you need to qualify

Education

  • A National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field.

Career interest

  • A strong desire to build a career in HR.

Technical skills

  • Good command of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to learn and use HR information systems.

Administrative skills

  • Comfort handling large amounts of data.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to juggle several tasks at once in a busy setting.

  • Clear spoken English and the ability to write simple, professional emails.
