Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Africa invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for its Marketing and Events Coordination Internship vacancies. The closing date for applications is 30 September 2026.

What the internship is about

This internship sits in the Sales & Distribution team of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Africa. You will help the team with everyday marketing, event planning, and sales support tasks. The role gives you a real look at how insurance companies sell their products, talk to brokers, and run big events – all while you learn on the job.

What you will do every day

  • Write and share content – Help the leadership team create short articles, blog posts, and other material that both staff and outside readers will find useful.
  • Run internal communication tools – Keep SharePoint, Yammer, and the company’s online hubs up‑to‑date so employees stay informed and involved.
  • Plan and run events – Work with the Head of Sales & Distribution to organize virtual meetings, in‑person broker gatherings, and other promotional events.
  • Maintain the CRM system – Add new contacts, clean up data, and make sure the sales pipeline shows the latest information.
  • Pull data and make reports – Extract numbers from the CRM, turn them into easy‑to‑read charts, and help the team decide what to do next.
  • Record customer talks – Take quick notes after each broker or client meeting and upload them to the right system.
  • Help the department run smoothly – Take on any coordination tasks that keep the Sales & Distribution office working without hiccups.
  • Support monthly reporting – Assist in preparing the monthly performance summary that senior managers use to track growth.

Who you will work with

The Sales & Distribution team is the engine that pushes new business forward for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Africa. The team works together, shares ideas fast, and gives every new member the chance to learn from experienced professionals.

Who we are looking for

  • A curious teen‑aged or early‑career candidate who loves marketing, events, and sales.

  • A clear communicator who can write simple, interesting messages for both staff and external audiences.
  • A quick learner who enjoys working with a team where every day brings something new.

What you need to have

  • A bachelor’s degree (or be in the final year) in Marketing, Business, Communications, Commerce, or a similar field.
  • Good skills with Microsoft Office – especially Excel for data, PowerPoint for slides, and Word for writing.
  • Strong written and spoken English so you can create clear, engaging content.
  • An analytical mind that can pull numbers from a system, spot trends, and turn them into useful pictures or short summaries.

Nice‑to‑have extras

  • Experience with any CRM platform such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or a similar system.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Yammer, or other internal communication tools.
  • Past involvement in event coordination – even school clubs, volunteer work, or class projects count.
  • A genuine interest in insurance, finance, or related services.
  • Ability to stay calm while handling several tasks at once in a fast‑moving setting.
  • A team‑player attitude that builds good relationships with both coworkers and outside partners.
