Job Overview: What You’ll Do as an SBV Security Guard
As a Security Guard at SBV, you’ll be the front line of safety. Your role ensures that SBV’s premises are secure and that visitors, employees, and company property are handled responsibly. Here’s what your day-to-day duties might look like:
1. Escorting Visitors with Care
- Only authorized visitors are allowed on the premises, and you’ll be the one ensuring this.
- Secure visitors’ personal items like cell phones and weapons in a designated safe.
- Issue and collect visitor access permits.
- Escort visitors to their destinations or arrange for their collection.
- Ensure after-hours visitors comply with company policies.
- Monitor suppliers and service providers, ensuring they leave the premises once their tasks are complete.
2. Conducting Searches Professionally
- Perform searches on visitors, employees, and their belongings in line with company policies.
- Inspect parcels, trolleys, bags, and toolcases to ensure no unauthorized items leave or enter.
- Conduct random searches when requested by management.
- Report any suspicious findings immediately to the Security Compliance Officer.
3. Policy Compliance and Access Control
- Prevent employees from entering departments they’re not assigned to.
- Oversee the proper use of firearms, cell phones, and cameras by visitors and employees.
- Maintain control of all security registers and documentation, ensuring everything is up-to-date.
4. Accurate Record-Keeping
- Record the details of visitors, including serial numbers of equipment brought in or taken out.
- Maintain clear and organized documentation for audits and reports.
