As I search for opportunities to kickstart my career, I stumbled upon the SABC Various Internship Opportunities Programme 2024. This 12-month graduate programme aims to provide effective and efficient support for technology, operations, and resources to install, sustain, and provide administration of broadcast systems/facilities, equipment, servers, and networks.

Responsibilities:
As part of my role, I am responsible for assisting with asset management tracking and transfers, as well as the repairs and maintenance of equipment in line with SABC technical and operational broadcast standards. I adhere to the service delivery standards of the Division and submit ad-hoc incidence fault reports with findings and repairs.
To prevent on-air technical faults to less than the agreed SLA percentage, I respond promptly to match the urgency for technical assistance in accordance with delivery requirements, especially in support of ‘on air’ systems. I provide effective technical support to users to reduce downtime and ensure correct configuration and testing of digital equipment, so there are no technical on-air faults.
I ensure functional, streamlined, and reliable digital systems, follow up reported faults, and conduct daily or monthly proactive system health checks against a checklist, replacing faulty components as needed. Additionally, I report and escalate risks to ensure that the systems remain secure.
