Role Purpose
As a Packaging and Ingredients Storeman, you’ll play a critical role in the supply chain. Your responsibilities will include managing the receiving, issuing, counting, safeguarding, and disposal of stock in a way that meets company standards and ensures efficient store operations.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, you must have:
Qualifications:
- A Matric certificate or equivalent.
- A valid forklift license.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar environment.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of stock control principles and tools.
- Proficiency in systems like SAP or Syspro.
- Strong numeric skills equivalent to Grade 12.
- Excellent communication, reading, and listening skills.
- A good understanding of organizational processes.

Key Responsibilities
1. Store Operations Execution
- Receive, store, issue, return, and dispose of stock items as per company standards.
- Maintain compliance with all procedures and policies for physical product flow.
- Perform regular housekeeping to ensure a tidy and organized store.
- Inspect deliveries for accuracy, ensuring that the Purchase Order number matches the delivery note or invoice.
- Process system transactions promptly and ensure proper binning of stock daily.
- Facilitate the return of faulty stock to suppliers for repair.
- Handle GRNs (Goods Received Notes) for incoming stock and communicate with the Stores Supervisor or Administrator.
- Serve customers and suppliers professionally at the issue and receiving counters.
- Accurately capture all documents (goods receipts, issues, etc.) by the start of the next shift.
2. Stock and Inventory Control
- Track inventory in the store and ensure it is organized for safety and accessibility.
- Conduct regular stock counts and daily cycle counts to maintain accurate records.
3. Safety and Security
- Safeguard stock against loss, theft, or damage.
- Follow all company health, safety, and risk policies, including HACCP/ISO standards.
- Conduct housekeeping in line with operating procedures.
- Adhere to risk management objectives and standards.
4. Effective Teamwork and Self-Management
- Take accountability for your tasks, prioritize effectively, and communicate risks or delays.
- Ensure quality and productivity standards are met consistently.
- Show a willingness to assist team members and go the extra mile to achieve team goals.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Compliance with receiving, issuing, and safeguarding policies.
- Accuracy of documentation and stock data.
- Cleanliness and organization of the store.
- Minimizing stock losses, damage, and theft.
- Quick and effective resolution of queries and errors.
- Management of aging or expiring stock.
