Job Purpose
As a Production Intern at Sappi, you will gain practical work experience over a period of 24 months. This internship will help you develop the skills and knowledge needed to become employable in the industry.
Main Responsibilities
- Development Plan: Complete your development plan within 24 months from the start date.
- Training Curriculum: Finish the specific training curriculum required for your position within the agreed timeframe.
- Performance Standards: Meet the performance standards defined in the development plan and curriculum.
- Induction Training: Complete general and plant-specific induction training.
- Legal Training: Finish the necessary legal training as per mill and section requirements.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a high level of good housekeeping in your workplace at all times.
- Safety Observations: Conduct regular Behavioral Based Safety observations.
- Licensing Competency: Achieve plant licensing competency within the agreed timeframe of the training plan.
- Coach and Mentor Relationship: Maintain a good working relationship with your assigned coach and mentors.
- Training Program Updates: Keep your training program up to date and communicate any barriers hindering your progress.
- Code of Ethics: Adhere to Sappi’s Code of Ethics.
- Shift Activities: Participate in shift activities when required.

Qualifications
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Pulp and Paper, or S4.
- No prior work experience is required.
