What the job is about

We need a friendly, tech‑loving person to join our Fourways store in Johannesburg on a part‑time basis. As a Casual Sales Consultant, you will:

  • Greet shoppers the moment they walk in.
  • Ask easy‑going questions to find out what they need.
  • Let customers try out the newest iPhone, MacBook or Apple Pencil.
  • Explain how Apple products and services work in plain language.
  • Suggest the right mix of devices, accessories and AppleCare plans for each shopper.
  • Keep the store tidy, help teammates, and make sure every visit feels special.

The goal is simple – help customers leave happy while you boost the store’s sales numbers.


What you need to bring

Must‑have Nice‑to‑have
Matric or National Senior Certificate Any retail or sales experience
Good speaking skills – you can talk to anyone, from a teen to a senior Knowledge of Apple gadgets (iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc.)
Positive attitude and a love for tech Experience with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems
Ability to work well with a team Willingness to learn new products quickly

If you enjoy chatting about the latest phone releases, can explain how something works without using jargon, and like the idea of building relationships with customers, you’re a strong fit.


Day‑to‑day duties

  1. Welcome visitors – say hello, smile, and ask how you can help.
  2. Listen closely – find out what the customer wants, whether it’s a new phone for school or a Mac for work.
  3. Show the product – let them hold the device, try the camera or test the keyboard.
  4. Explain clearly – break down features like “Face ID” or “M1 chip” into simple benefits.
  5. Offer solutions – match the right device with accessories, warranties, or subscription services.
  6. Close the sale – guide the shopper through the checkout, answer any last‑minute questions.
  7. Follow‑up – record customer preferences and share tips with teammates for future visits.

You don’t need to be an Apple expert before you start. iStore provides a full training programme that covers:

  • Basics of every Apple product in our range.
  • How to use the store’s sales software.
