Clicks Group is looking for three permanent Shop Assistants / Cashiers to join the team at the I’Langa Mall store in Mpumalanga. This is a full‑time role in the wholesale and retail trade sector, focused on helping customers, running the checkout, and keeping the shop tidy and well stocked. What you’ll do every day

  • Run the checkout: Scan items fast, take payment, and give the right change.
  • Handle cash safely: Keep the drawer balanced and follow cash‑handling rules.
  • Promote ClubCard: Explain the benefits, sign up new members, and make sure rewards are applied correctly.
  • Share promos: Tell shoppers about special offers and help them find the best deals.
  • Be a brand ambassador: Greet customers with a smile, answer questions, and represent Clicks in a friendly way.
  • Merchandise shelves: Arrange products neatly, follow the store’s visual guidelines, and keep stock levels looking good.
  • Keep the store clean: Pick up spills, tidy aisles, and make sure everything is ready for shoppers.
  • Stay updated: Learn about new products, current promotions, and upcoming store events so you can give accurate advice.
  • Support stock checks: Help with regular inventory tasks and follow the store’s procedures.
  • Work as a team: Pitch in with colleagues, share information, and help meet daily targets.

What we are looking for

  • Grade 12 qualification – this is a must.
  • Maths and English marks of at least 50 % are preferred.
  • Retail or FMCG experience – having worked in a shop, supermarket, or similar setting is a plus but not required.
  • Basic maths skills – you need to add, subtract, and handle cash correctly.
  • Good communication – you should be able to speak clearly and listen to customers’ needs.
  • Computer literacy – comfortable using a POS system and basic store software.
  • Organisational skills – able to keep your workspace tidy and follow store procedures.
  • Problem‑solving ability – quick to find solutions when something goes wrong.
  • Customer‑first attitude – a genuine desire to help shoppers have a positive experience.
  • Team spirit – willing to cooperate and support co‑workers.

Desirable extra skills: experience persuading customers, strong planning abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure in a busy retail setting.
