What You Will Do

  • Help the pharmacist give safe and correct medication to customers.
  • Count, label, and hand over medicines exactly as the prescription says.
  • Keep the shelves tidy, check stock levels, and order new items when needed.
  • Re‑pack medicines and arrange the pharmacy inventory so everything is easy to find.
  • Record every transaction in the computer system and keep paper files up to date.
  • Answer simple health questions that are allowed by the pharmacy rules.
  • Assist with making special medicines (compounding) only when a pharmacist shows you how.
  • Keep the dispensary clean and follow all safety signs and procedures.
  • Make sure product displays look neat and follow the store’s visual standards.
  • Follow Clicks Group’s standard operating procedures, pharmacy laws, and safety guidelines.
  • Carry out any other tasks the manager asks for, such as opening the store or closing the register.

What You Need

  • Matric certificate with Mathematics – this is a must.
  • Ability to register as a Pharmacist Assistant with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • Basic knowledge of over‑the‑counter (OTC) medicines and health‑aisle products.
  • Understanding of SAPC rules and pharmacy legal standards.
  • Strong customer‑service attitude – you enjoy helping people.
  • Very good attention to detail – one mistake can affect a patient’s health.
  • Good basic math skills for counting pills and calculating doses.
  • Comfortable using a computer (MS Office, pharmacy business systems).
  • Ability to follow written instructions and standard procedures without deviation.
  • High integrity and ethical behaviour – you keep confidential information safe.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to stay organized and work calmly even when the shop is busy.
