The City of Johannesburg’s Human Settlements Department is looking for energetic students to join its internship programme. The placement can last up to 18 months and is open only to residents of Johannesburg. Who Can Apply?
- Education: You must have finished Grade 12 (Matric) and hold one of the following qualifications:
- A National Diploma in Built Environment (NQF 6) or

What You’ll Be Doing
During the internship you will help the Human Settlements team turn plans into real‑world results. Your day‑to‑day tasks might include:

- Working with specialists to decide the best use for vacant land or existing buildings in a neighbourhood.
- Assisting with project packaging, audits, and other paperwork as needed.
