Job Title: Sandton Software Engineer (Back-End III)
About the Role:
As a Sandton Software Engineer (Back-End III) at Capitec Bank, you will play an integral part in a cross-functional team dedicated to the full software development lifecycle. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems and applications, considering scalability, performance, and future requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance complex software systems and applications
- Guide and support developers and stakeholders in scoping, progress, status, and resolution of engineering problems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions
- Identify and address technical issues, and implement solutions to improve system performance and reliability
Education Requirements:
- Minimum of a Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
- Ideal or preferred: Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology
Experience and Knowledge:
- 6+ years’ proven experience in back-end software development, project delivery, and implementation (in relevant development technologies/language)
- Experience with back-end frameworks and technologies
- Knowledge of IT systems development processes (SDLC), application development, advanced programming concepts, advanced algorithms and data structures, design patterns, version control, testing practices, database systems and query optimization, RESTful API design and integration, cloud computing platforms and services, advanced microservice and event-driven architectures, deployment using Kubernetes and containerization
