Purpose Statement
As a Decision Scientist, your primary goal will be to use data science and analytics to drive business decisions and improve processes. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to identify business problems and develop creative solutions using data visualization, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize data to solve business problems and improve processes
- Develop and deploy advanced analytics models to answer business questions and discover opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business problems and develop solutions using data science and analytics
- Help build and deliver Capitec’s AI/Machine Learning strategy to drive data-led business decision making
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
- A degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or Computer Science, plus 4+ years of relevant work experience
- OR an Honors degree in the same fields, plus 3+ years of relevant work experience
- OR a Master’s degree in Data Science or a relevant discipline
- Strong knowledge of functional business areas, regulatory requirements, and modern software development best practices
- Experience working in cloud environments, different operating systems, and databases
- Proficiency in programming languages, data visualization, and statistical modeling
- Ability to productionalize and solution design, and learn complex machine learning methodologies
