Capitec Bank Ltd is looking for a skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join their team in Stellenbosch. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enabling Data Scientists and Decision Scientists to work more efficiently, build, implement, and support platform improvements that will support the delivery of the Capitec AI strategy.
Job Description:
As a Machine Learning Engineer at Capitec Bank Ltd, you will be responsible for:
- Building and implementing machine learning models to support the delivery of the Capitec AI strategy
- Collaborating with Data Scientists and Decision Scientists to create and deliver AI solutions
- Working with Python and SQL to develop and deploy predictive models into a production environment
- Applying modern software development best practices and working in cloud environments
- Utilizing big data processing frameworks to analyze and process large datasets
- Debugging code through common troubleshooting techniques such as metrics, logs, and traces
- Developing predictive modeling techniques and deploying models into production
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering (Other)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in machine learning and software development
- Experience with delivering non-standard predictive models into a production environment
- Strong knowledge of machine learning patterns and concepts, including machine learning model life cycle
- Understanding of distributed systems and ability to debug code through common troubleshooting techniques
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience with big data processing frameworks, such as Hadoop or Spark
- Knowledge of cloud environments, such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
