Job Purpose Statement:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the operational functioning of the branch efficiently and effectively in accordance with set standards and processes. The key objectives include:

  • Executing the Business and People implementation plans in the branch to maintain client service excellence utilizing the Global One product offering
  • Building a healthy, high-performance team

Experience:

The ideal candidate should have:

  • At least 2-3 years of client service experience within a retail/financial services/banking environment
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory/team leader role within a retail/financial services/banking environment
  • Experience coaching and developing team members and overseeing activities of a branch or team

Preferred Experience:

  • 4 years of supervisory/first-line management experience
  • Experience of building and maintaining key relationships at a management level
  • Experience in an operational management role within a retail/financial services/banking environment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Grade 12 National Certificate/Vocational
  • Minimum: National Certificate in Banking or Similar
  • Ideal or Preferred: National Higher Certificate in Banking
  • Ideal or Preferred: A relevant tertiary qualification in Similar or Commerce

Knowledge:

  • Minimum:
    • Leadership and people management principles
    • Business performance drivers at this level
    • Retail/consumer service environment
    • Banking products and services
    • Business Processes (Marketing/Financial Management/Human Resource Management)
  • Ideal:
    • Internal business processes and procedures
    • Organisational Policies, including (but not limited to) the Credit Policy

  • Communications Skills
  • Decision-making skills
  • Planning, organizing, and coordination skills
  • Interpersonal & Relationship management Skills
  • Commercial Thinking Skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Computer Literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)

  • Clear criminal and credit record
  • Must have fingerprints which are detectable/recognizable on Capitec Bank’s internal electronic banking system
