About the Job
Ivanhoe Mines needs a Logistic Clerk for its Johannesburg office, part of the Ivanhoe Marketing team. This is a permanent position where you will help keep the loading and dispatch processes running smoothly. Your main tasks will be checking data, keeping records straight, and working with the companies that move the trucks. What You Will Do Every Day
- Support loading operations – make sure trucks are ready to go and paperwork is correct.
- Verify pre‑advice details – check the information entered in the logistics system before trucks arrive.
- Track truck arrivals – follow each truck’s arrival time and assign it to the right loading bay.
- Check truck data at the gate – confirm the details when the truck reaches the site.
- Control documents – keep all forms and permits organized and send them to the right people quickly.
- Confirm provider submissions – make sure the logistics partners upload the required files to the system.
- Guide partners on data rules – help external companies understand what information is needed and how to enter it correctly.
- Maintain a daily diary – write short notes about key events for later reports.
- Liaise between teams – act as a bridge between internal staff and outside logistics partners.
- Solve data mismatches – find and fix any errors that pop up during the day.
- Keep systems clean – ensure that all records stay accurate and up‑to‑date.
- Help the team work together – share information and support colleagues when needed.
Who You Should Be
- Education: Must have a National Senior Certificate (Matric). A certificate in logistics or supply‑chain studies is a plus.
- Experience: Previous work in logistics, freight, or moving goods is helpful but not mandatory.
- Computer Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, tables, data sorting).
- Industry Know‑how: Understanding of cross‑border road freight is an advantage.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot mistakes quickly and keep data accurate.
- Communication: Clear speaking and writing skills for dealing with many partners.
