The Control Room Operator role is a full‑time, permanent position that is perfect for someone who is alert, responsible and ready to start a career in the security field. You will work inside our monitoring centre, listen to alarm signals, talk to clients and make sure the right response teams are dispatched quickly.
Day‑to‑Day Tasks
- Watch the computer screens for emergency and non‑emergency alarms.
- Call the property, client or key holder as soon as an alarm goes off.
- Write down every detail of the incident in the system – time, place, what happened.
- Tell the senior staff member on duty about any accidents or serious incidents.
- Follow the correct steps for vehicle‑related alerts (e.g., gate breaches).
- Keep your timesheet up‑to‑date and store all paperwork neatly.
- Tell the tech team right away if any computer or equipment stops working.
- Use the company phones only for work‑related calls.
- Stick to safety rules and the company’s zero‑harm policy.
- Keep your workstation clean and organized.
- Help callers with questions, problems or complaints and make sure they feel heard.
- Update client details such as holiday instructions and pass the information to the right colleague.
- Report any faulty alarm systems through the approved channel.
- Capture any possible sales leads and forward them to the sales team.
- Learn and remember all the duties that belong to a Control Room Operator.
- Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that apply to the monitoring centre.
- Meet the service‑level targets set by the company.
- Deliver a consistently high level of service.
- Pitch in with extra tasks or projects when asked.
What We Are Looking For
