About the Role
TWK Agri’s Grain Division at the Mkondo Silo in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga, is looking for a fresh face to join the team as a Trainee Grain Grader. This is a full‑time, entry‑level post that gives you a chance to learn the basics of grain handling while earning a steady salary. You will work side‑by‑side with seasoned staff, helping with grain intake, grading, quality checks and dispatch. The aim is to turn you into a fully qualified Grain Grader by the time you finish the on‑the‑job training.
What You Will Do Every Day
- Help load and unload grain when trucks arrive or leave the silo.
- Support grading work under the watchful eye of a certified grader.
- Run the weighbridge and keep accurate weight records.
- Keep the site clean – sweep floors, control pests and follow sanitation rules.
- Follow food‑safety and quality guidelines to make sure the grain meets industry standards.
- Do basic office tasks such as filing, data entry and updating logs.
- Watch out for safety by following all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) instructions.
- Talk with supervisors, farmers and customers to share information and solve small problems.
- Record everything – from grain quality notes to daily operational reports.
- Take part in training sessions that teach you the technical side of grain grading.
- Lend a hand in other silo chores whenever the team needs extra help.
