  • Follow approved guidelines to give intermediate‑level emergency treatment.
  • Manage airways, give oxygen, and hand out medicines when they’re required.
  • Perform basic and selected advanced life‑support steps, such as heart monitoring and using a defibrillator.
  • Keep patients stable while you drive them to a hospital or clinic.
  • Drive emergency response vehicles safely and use all medical equipment correctly.
  • Check all gear regularly so it’s ready for the next call.
  • Write clear notes about each patient’s condition, the treatment you gave, and any follow‑up actions.
  • Talk respectfully with patients, their families, hospital staff, and other emergency workers.
  • Follow all infection‑control rules, health‑and‑safety laws, and company procedures.
  • Join regular training sessions to keep your skills sharp and your certifications up to date.

What We’re Looking For

  • You must be a registered ILS Paramedic with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
  • A valid driver’s licence is required; a Code B licence is the minimum, while a Code C1 is a plus.
  • You need solid knowledge of emergency medical procedures and treatment protocols.
  • Strong assessment skills and the ability to give high‑quality patient care are a must.
  • Good judgment and problem‑solving skills help you act quickly under pressure.
  • Staying calm during stressful situations is essential.
  • Clear spoken communication and the ability to work well with others are important.
  • You should be comfortable working both alone and as part of a rescue team.
  • Professionalism, honesty, and compassion should guide every action you take.
  • A willingness to keep learning and maintaining high professional standards is expected.
