What the Learnership Is All About
The Discovery Learnership Programme gives you a chance to earn a nationally recognised FETC: Long‑Term Insurance qualification at NQF Level 4. You will study in a classroom and also work in a real financial‑services environment, so you get theory and practice at the same time.
What You Will Do
You will work mainly in a call‑centre setting. Your daily tasks may include:
- Helping medical‑aid members with their questions.
- Processing claims and new insurance business.
- Managing health‑benefit information for clients.
You will learn how the insurance world works while you talk to real customers and solve their problems.

- Mathematics: 50 % (Level 4)
- English: 50 % (Level 4)
- Mathematics Literacy: 60 % (Level 5)
- Second language: 50 % (Level 4)

Having started a tertiary (college) course, even if it’s not finished, is an advantage.
Specific Requirements
- Not currently studying after Matric or employed full‑time.
- No previous learnership completed.
- Age between 18 and 25 years.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Basic computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
