Truworths Tygervalley is looking for a creative Visual Merchandiser to join its Field Operations team.
This permanent role is based in Cape Town, Western Cape.
You’ll work in a fast‑moving retail environment where your ideas help shape how customers see our style, quality and great service.
What You’ll Do
As a Visual Merchandiser, you’ll be the face of the store’s look.
Your main tasks include:
- Create eye‑catching displays inside the shop and on the windows so shoppers can’t help but look.
- Keep the store tidy and organized—good housekeeping matters.
- Update displays quickly when new stock arrives or when sales promos change.
- Stay up‑to‑date with the latest fashion trends, promotions and credit offers.
- Speak respectfully and help both customers and teammates with fashion advice or questions.
- Always look professional, which boosts the store’s image.
- Handle any complaints or concerns calmly and find solutions that keep everyone happy.
- Work hard with the team to hit daily sales and visual goals.
- Take part in ongoing training and use new skills right away.
- Follow all safety and security rules, including store policies and OHASA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) regulations.
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Flexibility
- Able to adapt when plans change.
- Comfortable reading and following an Implementation Manual.
- Experience in visual merchandising is a big plus.
Skills that Shine
- Strong sense of fashion and awareness of the latest trends.
- Good judgement on how to use space effectively.
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Smart planning and quick decision‑making.
- Physically fit: you should be able to lift, stretch, bend and stand for long periods.

- Creative and ready to make ideas happen when needed.
- Good at coordinating colours and styles that match the brand.
