Transnet invites suitable applicants to apply for their Young Professional‑in‑Training program vacancies. The closing date for applications is December 2, 2025.
What the Job Is About
Transnet’s Young Professional‑in‑Training (YPiT) program is a chance to learn real‑world skills in supply chain management and compliance. You’ll spend time in the company’s offices, meet different people, and try out the kinds of tasks that a full‑time employee does.
What You’ll Do While You’re Here
- Follow and learn: spend day‑to‑day with different coworkers, go to meetings and workshops, and see how other teams in purchasing work.
- Talk to customers: keep suppliers and clients informed about what they want and when they’ll get it.
- Help out with paperwork: research, organise files, and write simple reports in Word or PowerPoint.
- Follow your mentor: listen for directions, break big projects into small steps, and finish tasks on time.
- Work on real projects: produce work you can hand to other teams to help solve problems for the company.
Who Should Apply
- Education: a diploma or degree in Auditing, Finance, Law, or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience: 0–1 year in an audit, finance, supply‑chain, compliance or legal role.
- Extra points: if you know about public‑sector rules like the PFMA, that’s a bonus.
Skills That Help You Succeed
- Think ahead: help plan ways to reach the company’s goals.
- Know the market: stay aware of anything that might change how the business runs.
- Be creative: try new ideas and point out ways to make current processes better.
