The South African Human Rights Commission Invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Travel and Events Internship Vacancies. The closing date for applications is 12th December 2025.


What the Internship Is About

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) is looking for bright graduates who really care about human rights. As a travel and events intern, you will help the team arrange trips and events for staff, while making sure everything follows company rules and budgets. This is a 12‑month paid internship, so you’ll earn a monthly stipend of R8 353.71 and learn the ins and outs of travel management and event planning inside a respected human‑rights organization.


Who We Want

  • Education: You should have a diploma in Tourism, Supply Chain, or Public Administration.
  • Computer Skills: Must be able to use MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and have an internet‑savvy mindset.
  • Confidentiality: Need to understand how to keep sensitive information private.
  • Travel & Event Tools: Familiarity with travel booking software and event‑planning systems is a plus.

Your Daily Tasks

What You’ll Do Why It Matters
Book trips for staff (flights, hotels, transport, visas) Keeps everyone on schedule and stays within budget.
Adjust itineraries when plans change or trips get cancelled Shows you can think on your feet.
Plan company events – conferences, workshops, team building Helps the organisation run smoothly and meet its goals.
Find venues, food, and tech equipment for events Makes sure events run without hiccups.
Stay on site during events to solve any last‑minute problems Provides immediate support and shows reliability.
Follow legal and company rules for all travel and events Protects the organisation and its employees.
Help finance with travel paperwork Keeps finances audit‑ready.
Be the main contact for staff and managers about travel and events Builds trust and smooth communication.
Keep communication clear with everyone you work with Good teamwork and professional relationships.
Work with other departments to fit travel and events into business plans Aligns your work with the company’s bigger picture.
