- Check the food before it goes on sale to make sure it looks and tastes good.
- Swap old or damaged items for fresh stock.
- Stop waste by spotting anything that’s going bad before it’s sold.
- Fill out the paperwork the manager needs, like a quick log of what was made.
- Watch the numbers – sales, cost of ingredients, and profit – and let the manager know if anything looks off.
- Plan the day’s orders so the deli keeps running without a hitch.
- Talk clearly with your teammates and the managers.
- Check the equipment – ovens, mixers, slicers – to make sure they’re working and safe to use.
