Bake, Help Bake, Finish
Work side‑by‑side with the main baker. Prepare dough, bake bread and pastries, and finish any extra touches the recipe calls for. -
Keep Things Clean
Make sure all ovens, mixers, and tools are spotless. Clean the baking area after each shift and keep the whole kitchen tidy so that everything is safe for food production. -
Stay Safe and Clean
Follow Pick n Pay’s food‑safety rules at all times. Report anything that looks broken or unsafe to the manager right away. -
Serve Customers
Greet folks at the bakery counter, take their orders, pack their pastries, and answer simple questions about the products. -
Report Waste
Track how much dough or finished product goes to waste and let the team know. -
Help Out Anywhere
Be ready to lend a hand with any extra tasks the manager asks for, from organizing stock to setting up display tables.
What You’ll Need

School Finish
A Grade 12 or Matric certificate. You don’t need to have studied baking yet – a love for it will do. -
Baking Passion
A genuine interest in working with bread, cakes, and other bakery treats. -
Extra Skills (Nice to Have)
• A Level 2 or higher baking course
• Experience working in a store or other food‑related job
