[Managed People Solutions] Invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Junior Merchandiser Internship vacancies. The closing date for applications is 30 November 2025.

Why This Internship Is a Cool Chance for Students

Managed People Solutions is looking for fresh and energetic beginners to join the Junior Merchandiser Internship at Makro Carnival City in Brakpan, Gauteng. The program is aimed at teens and young adults who want to learn how to run a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) store and earn money while they do it.

This internship is split into two paths: a 12‑month plan or an 18‑month plan. Both give you real‑world experience so you can build a solid résumé before you start a full‑time job.

What You’ll Do

  • Pick the right items to display so customers notice and buy them.
  • Figure out how many goods you need for each week.
  • Check that stock is fresh, in good shape, and properly priced.
  • Follow the store’s schedule to set up shelves and signage.
  • Listen to shoppers, learn what they’re asking for, and tell the right people about it.
  • Keep up-to-date with new products and promotions.
  • Write down every task you finish so managers can track progress.
  • Make routine calls to suppliers and other departments every cycle.
  • Let the Regional Sales Manager know when an item runs out.

Basically, you’ll learn how to keep a busy store humming by making sure products look great, are easy to find, and are stocked safely.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Age: 18 to 28 years old.
  • Education: A N6 TVET Certificate for the 18‑month version, or a NCV Level 4 certificate in a related field for the 12‑month version.
  • Work Experience: None needed – we want people who are ready to learn from the ground up.
  • Attitude: Willingness to adapt, ask questions, and work well with shoppers and staff.

If you’re curious about the world of retail and don’t mind standing behind a desk or on a shelf, this could be the perfect starting point.

Stipend & Time Frame

Program Length Monthly Pay
N6 TVET Internship 18 months R3,500
NCV Level 4 Internship 12 months R3,500

You’ll earn a steady monthly stipend while gaining hands‑on skills in stock control, merchandising, and customer service.

Why You Should Apply

  • Learn the fundamentals of the FMCG industry—what makes products move, what customers want, and how stores stay profitable.
  • Build a professional network by working with experienced managers and sales staff.
  • Get a real entry point into retail—many of our graduates move on to roles in store management, supply chain, and purchase.
  • Earn money while studying or taking a break from school.

It’s an easy way to gain practical experience that future employers will value.
