About the Job
Dis‑Chem Pharmacies stores are busy places that help people get the medicines and health advice they need. At our Riverside store in Queenstown, we are looking for a Pharmacy Intern. This is a fixed‑term role that lets you practice what you learned in your BPharm course while doing real work under a pharmacist’s guidance. What You’ll Do
- Help sell medicines that are on the controlled‑substance list (Schedule 1 and Schedule 2) while making sure everything follows the rules.
- Mix and fill medicines for patients. The pharmacist will check your work to ensure everything is safe and correct.
- Support our production line, where we repackage medicines and keep the shelves stocked.
- Track stock between the different medicine schedules (S 1 to S 6) to make sure we never run out of what people need.
- Order new stock and refill when supplies are low.
- Read and prepare prescriptions so patients get the right medicine in the right dose.
- Explain how to take medicines to patients, making sure they understand dosage and possible side‑effects.
- Promote healthy habits by giving accurate information that helps people feel better.
- Manage medical‑aid paperwork, submit claims, and fix any rejections that come up.
- Keep customer records up‑to‑date and flag problems to the manager.
- Take part in stock counts and keep an eye on safety, cleanliness, and all the rules that Dis‑Chem follows.
