Department of Employment and Labour invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Graduate Internship Vacancies. The closing date for applications is June 30, 2025.


What is the internship?

The Department of Employment and Labour is looking for fresh graduates who want to start a career helping people stay healthy and safe at work. The program, called the Employee Health and Wellness Programme (EHWP), will give you real‑world experience in making workplaces safer and more supportive.


How much can you earn?

  • Monthly stipend: R7 860.50
  • Total duration: 24 months (from 2025 to 2027)

What qualifications do you need?

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7)
    or
  • National Diploma (NQF 6)

The degree or diploma should be in one of the following fields:

  1. Social Work
  2. Psychology
  3. Occupational Health and Safety

What will you do?

During the 24‑month internship, you will:

  • Help roll out health and wellness programmes for employees.
  • Support campaigns that raise awareness about staying healthy at work.
  • Identify things that affect how staff feel and work.
  • Work with experienced professionals to create safe and happy work settings.

These tasks give you hands‑on knowledge in wellness, mental health, and safety in the workplace.
