Job Title: Risk Specialist
About the Role
As a Risk Specialist, you’ll be responsible for developing and coordinating risk management programs and frameworks that ensure high-quality risk management outcomes. You’ll analyze risks, provide accurate risk mitigation recommendations, and protect the organization from potential losses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential threats to the organization.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure effective risk management practices.
- Stay up-to-date with banking regulations, risk management best practices, and industry trends.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with department heads, business units, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience as a Risk Specialist in a large organization, preferably in the financial sector.
- Excellent knowledge of banking regulations, technology risks, and public policy.
- Strong analytical, commercial thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with risk management tools, software, and systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as risk management, finance, or business administration.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in risk management, finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in risk management, such as the Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation.
- Experience with risk management frameworks, such as COSO or ISO 31000.
