What you’ll be doing:
Mostly, you’ll be using your actuarial skills to help us make smart financial decisions. This will involve:

Analyzing insurance contract data: You’ll be working with big data to calculate our insurance contracts’ financial performance. This will help us see how well we’re doing financially.

Forecasting future results: You’ll be using your knowledge to predict how well our insurance contracts might perform in the future. This will help us make better financial plans.

Ensuring we’re financially stable: You’ll help make sure we have enough money set aside in case things don’t go as planned. This is important for keeping our bank safe and sound.

Creating reports: You’ll be helping us make reports to show how we’re doing financially. This is important for showing our customers, investors, and the government that we’re doing a good job.
- Improving our processes: You’ll be working with our team to make sure our processes for calculating actuarial valuations and financial reports are smooth and accurate. This will help us do our job more efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
If you have a passion for numbers, a flair for analysis, and a knack for strategic thinking, you might be just the person we’re looking for. Here’s what we need from you:

Be an Actuarial Student Society of South Africa or equivalent qualification

3+ years of experience in actuarial experience with an Insurance company

Have a strong understanding of IFRS 17

Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Be proficient in MS Office, with an ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems
- Strong knowledge of financial modeling and reporting
