Job Description:
As a Branch Manager at Capitec Bank, you’ll be responsible for managing the operational functioning of the branch efficiently and effectively, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of client service and product offerings. Your primary objectives will be to:
- Execute business and people implementation plans in the branch to drive growth and excellence
- Maintain client service excellence by utilizing our Global One product offering
- Build a high-performance team by coaching and developing team members
- Oversee the activities of the branch, ensuring seamless operations and efficient use of resources
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you’ll need to possess:
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years of client service experience in a retail, financial services, or banking environment
- 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or team leader role in a retail, financial services, or banking environment
- Experience in coaching and developing team members, as well as overseeing branch or team activities
- Grade 12 National Certificate or Vocational qualification
- National Certificate in Banking or similar
Ideal or Preferred Qualifications:
- National Higher Certificate in Banking
- A relevant tertiary qualification in a similar or commerce field
- 4 years of supervisory or first-line management experience
- Experience in building and maintaining key relationships at a management level
- Experience in an operational management role in a retail, financial services, or banking environment
Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum knowledge and understanding of:
- Leadership and people management principles
- Business performance drivers at this level
- Retail/consumer service environment
- Banking products and services
- Business processes (marketing, financial management, human resource management)
- Ideal knowledge and understanding of:
- Internal business processes and procedures
- Organizational policies, including credit policy
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Planning, organizing, and coordination skills
- Commercial thinking and relationship management skills
- Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
Conditions of Employment:
- Clear criminal and credit record
- Must have fingerprints that are detectable/recognizable on Capitec Bank’s internal electronic banking system
